Her training has prepared her to work with pre-school through adults in the play and expressive therapy settings, as well as the traditional counseling setting.

Play Therapy provides children with an opportunity to work through issues that are disrupting their developmental process. Early attention to concerns that are distressing for a child and the family can often prevent them from becoming more problematic and complex in the future. Anxiety, depression, divorce, adjustment, grief, academic stress and trauma are a few of the issues that can benefit from the process of playing through a child’s issues.
Kari earned her Master’s degree from The Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University and has earned several certifications; including Play Therapy, Clinical Supervision, Parenting With Love and Limits, Family Violence Intervention and Family Therapy. Kari conducts clinical supervision for many emerging professionals seeking their licensure. She also trains and supervises therapists who have an interest in earning their play therapy credentials.
